INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WNDU) - Everyone in northern Indiana’s 574 and 219 telephone area codes will be required to use 10 digits, rather than seven, to make local phone calls beginning later this year.

Landline and cellphone users in the 219 area code are being required to use all 10 digits of a local telephone number when dialing to avoid conflicts with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
